Privacy Policy.
How we handle information collected through this website.
Palmetto Cares LLC (“Palmetto Cares,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through palmettocaresllc.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies only to information collected through the Site. Information you share with us during clinical care is protected separately under federal and state health privacy laws, including HIPAA. Ronald Jackson, LISW-CP, provides a Notice of Privacy Practices to clients at intake that describes how clinical health information is handled.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. If you email or call us using the contact information on the Site, we receive whatever information you choose to share. We use that information only to respond to your inquiry.
The Site itself does not include forms, accounts, or online payments. To request an appointment, you’ll be directed to a separate client portal operated by TherapyNotes/TherapyPortal, which has its own privacy practices.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our web host may automatically log basic technical information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, and the pages you view. This information is used to keep the Site running and to diagnose issues.
Cookies and tracking. The Site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The Site does load fonts from Google Fonts; when your browser requests those fonts, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
Third-party services
The Site links to or loads content from external services, including:
- TherapyPortal / TherapyNotes — the client portal used to request and manage appointments. TherapyPortal has its own privacy practices and is governed by a Business Associate Agreement with Palmetto Cares.
- Google Fonts — used to display website typography.
- Emergency and crisis resources (988, 911) — provided on the contact page for your safety in urgent situations.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites or services.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to respond to your inquiries, operate and maintain the Site, and protect the security and integrity of the Site. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information collected through the Site with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data retention
Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for our reasonable business records. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s default retention practices.
Your choices
You can contact us at any time to ask what information we have about you or to request that we delete it, subject to applicable law and our clinical recordkeeping obligations.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
