Cognitive behavioral therapy

Practical tools for shifting the thought patterns that shape how you feel and act. Especially useful for anxiety, depression, and unhelpful patterns you’ve noticed in yourself but can’t seem to change on your own.

The work is structured but not rigid: you and your therapist identify the thoughts driving distress, test them against reality, and build the skills to interrupt them when they show up again.

Solution-focused therapy

A forward-looking approach built around what you want to be different, and what’s already working in your life. Best when you have a clear goal or stuck point and want to move — not analyze.

Rather than dwelling on the origin of a problem, the work focuses on the exceptions: moments when things went right, and what those tell us about how to build more of them.

Reality therapy

Focused on what you can control and the choices you make each day. A strong fit when the goal is taking responsibility, building better habits, or strengthening the relationships that matter most.

The core question is a simple one: is what you’re doing right now getting you closer to the life you want? Reality therapy makes that question concrete and answerable.

A note on faith

Faith is a resource, not a requirement.

Palmetto Cares is grounded in a Christian view of hope and human capacity, with therapists experienced in faith communities as well as secular settings. If your faith is central to how you make sense of things, it’s welcome in the work. If it isn’t — or if you don’t hold one — that’s welcome too. The clinical practice stands on its own, and clients of any background can expect the same evidence-based care.
